If you have any difficulty while printing with your Brother MFC-L2710DW printer, you need to do some troubleshooting methods to fix the issue. Troubleshooting is the simplest and best way to restart the printer. It also helps to clear most of the bugs in the printer. You can troubleshoot and solve your printer’s issues by following the methods given below.



  • Click on the Start button from your computer’s main screen and type Control Panel in the search bar at the bottom of the window.
  • Next, select the Control Panel option from your search results.
  • Now, click the Hardware and Sounds option.
  • Next, select the Devices and Printers option from the list.
  • Now, right-click on your respective printer’s name and select the Set as default printer option from the drop-down list.

For Windows 10:

  • Select the Start menu on your computer and click on the Settings option.

  • Now, select the Printers & Scanners option from the list.
  • Make sure to deselect the Let Windows manage my default printer option.
  • Now, choose your printer from the list.
  • If your printer appears multiple times on the screen, select the printer with the online status.
  • Now, choose the Manage option and click on the Set as default button.


  • Click on the Start menu and then navigate to the Control Panel window.
  • Now, choose the Hardware and Sounds option.
  • Next, select the Devices and Printers option.
  • Now, right-click on your printer’s name and then choose the See what’s printing option.
  • Click the Printer tab and select Use Printer Offline option. Remove the checkbox next to this option. Otherwise, click See what’s printing > Printer > Pause Printing option. Remove the checkbox beside this option.
  • Now, check whether the printer is back to online mode.

Paper jam in the paper tray:

  • First, pull out the paper tray entirely from the printer.
  • Now, remove the jammed paper inside the tray area.
  • Next, reload the sheets into the paper tray.
  • Make sure to adjust the paper width guide to the edges of the stack.
  • Do not load the sheets above the maximum paper limit.
  • You can now insert the paper tray into the printer.

Paper jam inside the printer:

  • Wait for your printer to cool down.
  • Next, open the front cover of your printer.
  • Gently remove the toner cartridge and the drum unit.
  • Now, slowly pull out the jammed paper from the printer.
  • Next, insert the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly into the printer.
  • Close the front cover.

  • Check whether you have connected the power cord to the printer's rear and plugged the other end into an electrical outlet.
  • Make sure to power on your printer.
  • If you have connected your printer and computer by USB cable, check whether the cable is connected correctly, or if there is a problem with the USB cable, then replace it.
  • If you are connected by a Wi-Fi network, ensure that the printer and your computer are on the same network.

  • Now, re-assign the print job and start to print.
